Dimitris Pappas is a Machine Learning/Natural Language Processing expert and a Research Associate at the Athena Research and Innovation Center. He coordinated the development of data acquisition, data quality and data management, as well as the orchestration of text analytics and operational workflows of data resources in several EU projects. His past experience includes the development of data-driven, natural language processing tools targeting event extraction and analysis for resaerch impact assessment. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Crete and a MSc in Information Systems from the Athens University of Economics and Business. He is currently a PhD candidate in Language Processing in Athens University of Economics and Business. At Athena RC, he has been working on designing and developing language technology tools for Information Extraction and Knowledge Mining from heterogeneous data sources with machine and deep learning techniques.
