The application of the partnership principle in the 2021- 2027

"Commissioned by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy, the study on the ""Application of the Partnership Principle in the 2021-2027 Shared Management Funds"" was led by a consortium including Ecorys Europe, Ismeri Europa, and Nordregio. The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the partnership principle throughout the programming and implementation stages, identifying both challenges and best practices. It also examined how the application of the principle evolved between the 2014-2020 and 2021-2027 periods, providing actionable recommendations to enhance its impact. Through document analysis, surveys, and interviews with Managing Authorities, partners, and stakeholders, the research offered practical insights into how the partnership principle is applied across Member States, with recommendations to shape the future cohesion policy framework.
